What A Little Birdie Told Me...

For our first anniversary Chris got us tickets to go see Colbie Caillat and Gavin Degraw at The Backyard in Austin. I hinted to Chris that I wanted to go this concert for a couple of weeks and knew they were coming to Austin for a while. We danced to Andy Grammar, Colbie, and Gavin. I loved it! Perfect end to celebrate a great first year of marriage with my best friend. :)
Friday I invited a couple from our ward over who recently moved to Austin. We went to this ice-cream place downtown called Lick. It is this little shop with A LOT of people meaning it was super crowded we were touching elbows the whole time. They have the strangest flavors: goat cheese thyme, and honey, spicy coconut with peanuts, too hot chocolate, lemon lavender, honeyed peaches with rosemary. I ended up getting cilantro lime and salted caramel. Salted caramel may have been the best ice-cream I have tried, and I am not a huge fan of caramel. It was the right amount of sweet and salty. I will take pictures next time of the cute & quaint shop.
We went over to Jim's to watch the big NBA Championships.. OK lost :( I made Chris leave a couple of  minuets early because I didn't want to go to bed late. He said if this were the Jazz I would stay! That may be true but it was still a regular work day.
Saturday is a special day. Because it's the day we play soccer!  I look forward to it all week. I want to start an indoor team with some people in the ward. I think we could be really good. We ended up losing 2-0. Chris didn't get to play much. Only 7 people RSVP online and then of course Vance tells Molly that we need recruiters! Then we have 7 guy subs and 3 girl subs.
We got a call from Cameron and Carly. We got to go on a boat to Lake Austin! Unfortunately it was a 3 minuete boat ride and 3 1/2 hour beer fest. We ended up swimming and trying not to get leaches on our feet. Gross! We danced to some 90's music and there were party boats tying on to each other to make a bigger party boat... I was looking forward to wake surfing but maybe next time. Also someone stepped on my glasses :( so now I have a huge crack in the lenses. Maybe there is a lens doctor somewhere that can fix it?
Chris has somewhere to stay in Galveston! His friend Mike Do is doing a rotation in Peru, I was like Chris why don't you do that! I'm so glad he has a place to stay because that situation was a little stressful, we had to find someone who was leaving for a month. Well here goes another month a part! I am still not sure if I am going down there with him. My work is pretty flexible and I can really work from where ever, so I may just do a every other week thing or maybe I will just stay and enjoy some summer fun? I think I should enjoy a bit of a break, and I really want to learn how to surf...
I have another blog going, this is what I do to pass the time at work when there is no work... it's called licksnkicks.blogspot.com ya'll will have to check it out. I haven't written in it much yet, but it basically a nutrition diary (my own lovely recipes) plus workout blog of different ideas and things I find out. I guess I'm a little into Dr. Oz lately, who can debate People Magazine says he is the healthiest man live?
Until next week!

Nutrition Nutrition Nutrition

I am making a nutrition blog. As soon as it is up and ready I will put links in my cameryn's fly by. I am making all these different nutritious snacks and meals like I said. I even made a smoothie with kale, yogurt, strawberries, and orange juice. It was so good! The colors looked like it was Christmas. Red and green. It is a fruity taste and really healthy. I did make some tasty granola bars this week that could have been attributed to it. I highly doubt it. They are so good though! I eat them for breakfast and they are super healthy packed with protein and nutritious goodness! I have been in a making food mode. Where I make healthy things and try them. I made granola which was super good! I gave some batches to Elyse Shuldberg, Rachel Murdock, and Jim McBride. They all loved it! Will put the recipe ASAP!

August 13th Seven Brides for Seven Brothers Play

August 13th Seven Brides for Seven Brothers Play
So yesterday I went to go see Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Albany and Emily came with me to give me some morale support. Although it wasn't my favorite play the scenery was beautiful! It was outside in Sundance theatre. It felt like fall! A crisp cold night! It was wonderful I can't wait for Fall! I missed those girls so much, it is sad being all the way in Texas but our reunions are always wonderful. Love you girls!

Monday, our anniversary! One year it has been and what a great year! For Chris and I's first anniversary we wanted to make it memorable. We started out the day with running around the small lake and went over to Einstein Bagels to reenact our third date (which was Chris's favorite).  After work, I went to the dollar store and got mustaches, gross teeth, and Big Chew bubble gum. Our idea was that since we never had the chance to take a picture at the photo booth at our wedding we decided to hit up the photo booths all around Austin called a photo book crawl. I did a scavenger hunt for Chris for when he got home. I made a photo book and we reminisced about all the fun times we have had this past year. I wore my white after party dress from my wedding where I left to go to the hotel that night, I haven't worn it since! We got all dressed up and went to a restaurant called Wink. It was kind of a hole in the wall you could miss it easily. The setting was very Austin like, trendy and small. We ordered things we had no idea how to pronounce like antelope and guinea hen. The waiters all signed our menu and it said at the top Happy Anniversary Cameryn and Christopher! Except they spelt Cameryn with an O, of course. So Chris thought that was funny and that he would send it to Cameron Siddens his old room mate. After dinner we went to hit up some photo booths. Unfortunately, they were all broken or taken out! I guess most people are going digital now. We found one at a local bar and were dressed on the other side of the scale compared to everyone else. We got the stares as we walked in. We took two cute and fun photo strips. We tried to blow bubbles but didn't get the timing exactly right. When we got back to our apartment we had given each other cards. Chris gave me the cutest letter :). He also gave me a crossword to try and figure it out to see what the next clue was. It was really hard! He admitted that the clues were bad so he ended up helping me. He circle a few of the letters that were a clue to the next clue. The letters read, sweet. I saw a card in our room that had sweet on it for when I gave it to him on Valentines Day. In it were two concert tickets to Colbie Caillet and Gavin Degraw that I have been dying to see! I was so ecstatic! I have the best husband ever, he makes me so happy, and he cares for me so much. This year has been terrific and I can't imagine spending it with any one else. He is the love of my life!
